Thank you for joining this new online community! As a group, we will try to build upon the support and help that occurs around the city in many of the wonderful support meetings. We will also offer support to those women that can't attend groups and need an online outlet. By focusing locally, we will be better able to relate, aid, and support one another. And, hopefully, we will being to create a growing Indy culture of Breast is Best!!

Hi Jill, Yeah I think that is the problem. I always sit down to feed him and use my boppy to hold him up higher and nothing seems to help. He is doing better on choking but still seems to break suction often as it is probably a habit now. I…

Hey Tori, Sounds like you are having a forceful letdown that may be difficult for the little guy to work through. Perhaps your production has increased since birth which would explain why it only seems to be a problem as of the last couple of weeks…

Feeding Issues

So my son is 6 weeks old and has been nursing fine until about a week ago. He has been choking alot whenever my milk lets down but he was just pulling off and then resuming no problem. About a week ago he started nursing normally and then as soon as the milk started to let down he is breaking suction with each swallow. This has not prevented him from choking but is adding air to his intake and he has to burp more often. Once the letdown slows a little he goes back to drinking normally. His…See More

6 months and still nursing :)

I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to nurse, I had heard so many Mom's have trouble with it. Yes it was a challenge at first but after the first few weeks it's the easiest job in the world and the most rewarding. Having that time with your baby is so special. My daughter is 6 months old now, we recently started solids (fruits) and I don't know where we would be without nursing and having the support of the ladies here on this website. Thanks!

Woman Fired for Pumping At Work

I had to share this article. I am appalled that in this day and age the woman was fired for taking breaks to pump milk and a court agreed it was not discrimination. At the same time, I love the sarcasm this writer has toward the whole thing. Shame on Isotoner/Totes. Their email is customeraffairs@totes.com should you wish to express yourself :)
